Photos cannot do justice to this very rare type of silk lampas. Using silk and cotton blend, the artisans have woven incredible intricacy into the very detailed yet slightly rustic design, then the highlight is the glitter of metalized polyester which literally feels and looks like metal thread.  The texture is fuller and almost sculptural. It literally fits for a Pope, King and Queen, yet is not pretentious.

Metal thread is a signature of very high end brocade or lampas during Renaissance Italy. You can see some examples in museums such as Basilica di Santo Spirito in Florence.

Boboli, the estate garden of Medici family, is refined with a slight rustic feel which only time can give. The silk lampas captures its sophisticated beauty from a much slower era when one would spend decades to the art of rare citrus. Boboli has one of the world’s largest ancient citrus collection.
